Bio
Jean-Pierre Nimbona (Kidum) is a Kenyan based Burundian songwriter and drummer who sings in Rundi and Swahili.
Kidum moved to Nairobi to escape political turmoil in his home country. He moved to Nairobi, Kenya to escape the Political turmoil in his home country.
In 2001, he released his first Album, "Yaramenje". The album saw him as the voice of peace in Great Lakes Region.
This was followed by the release of "Shamba" in 2003, "lshano" 2006 became his third offering. The project exhibits his talents as a composer, vocalists, drummer and arranger.
He is a KORA Award Winner who has toured Canada, The U.S, Europe and Africa. He has shared the stage with artists such as Alpha Blondy and The late Lucky Dube. He has collaborated with Kenyan artists such as Nameless, Uganda’s Juliana Kanyomozi among others.
He has performed at Tanzania's Sauti Za Busara (2018) and Malaria Day concert, Kenya's Koroga Festival (2017), Sondeka (2015), Blankets and Wine, kigali up (Rwanada), Bujumbura Summer Fest (Burundi), (Tanzania), Afro Latino festival (Holland and Belgium), Kenya Expo (Burundi), Peace concert (Burundi) among others.
