Muzikol Music Awards 2020: All the nominees

The nominees were shortlisted in 32 categories, 29 of which are for Cameroonian acts while the remaining three will award musicians from the rest of Africa. Cameroonian rapper Stanley Enow is the most nominated artist with seven nods..

The MUMAs were launched this year by tech company ABEBOH to recognise and reward the work and talent of African artists, old and contemporary alike. The company also owns Muzikol, a music market and social network app.

“I believe the 2020 MUMAs have the most diverse, balanced and unbiased list of nominees in Cameroon‘s history. Every nominee made it because of merit, which is backed by information analysis and transparent data,” ABEBOH CEO Brian Nges told Music In Africa.

“During the selection, our role was to oversee that the process was fair for all. The Anglophone part of Cameroon had the most entries out of our national categories. Genres including Afrobeats, makossa, and njang, among others, are represented. Nigeria came first in the continental categories.”

The awards ceremony will feature performances, a keynote address and an afterparty for the nominees and organisers.

Fans can vote for their favourite acts on the Muzikol Music Awards official website starting 16 October.
