SA: Oskido’s Big Day Out unveils Liquideep, Mdu and B.O.P as first acts

The festival will be held at Huddle Park in Linksfield on 28 November 2026. The first line-up features artists whose music has played a significant role in the development of South Africa’s dance music culture.

B.O.P, comprising Bruce ‘Dope’ Sebitlo and Oskido, will join Liquideep and Mdu for the event. Their music has crossed generations, featuring prominently in South Africa’s club scene, township gatherings, festivals and other social settings over the years.

The festival, curated by veteran producer and DJ Oskido, will feature two stages showcasing house, kwaito, amapiano and hip-hop. Organisers said further artists, performances and other activities will be announced ahead of the event.

“Big Day Out has always been about celebrating the music that connects us all,” Oskido said. “These are artists whose songs became part of our lives. They gave us classics that still fill dance floors today, and it’s only fitting that we honour their contribution while bringing people together to create new memories as we do every year.”

The first announcement is expected to be followed by additional headliners and performances, with the festival positioned around a mix of established acts and artists representing newer generations of South African music.
