Call for nominations: IMC Music Rights Awards 2019
The International Music Council (IMC) is accepting nominations for exemplary projects or programmes ahead its Music Rights Awards, which take place during the IMC World Forum on Music from 28 September to 1 October in Paris, France.
Music Rights Awards are given to proposals that support one or more of the five music rights enunciated by the IMC:
- The right to all children and adults to express themselves musically in all form.
- The right to all children and adults to learn musical languages and skills.
- The right to all children and adults to have access to musical involvement through participation, listening, creation and information.
- The right for all musical artists to develop their artistry and communicate through all media with proper facilities at their disposal.
- The right for all musical artists to obtain a just recognition and fair remuneration for their work.
The submission deadline is 25 March (12am CET). Announcements will be made on 4 July.
Nomination process
Organisations may nominate any programme or project whether belonging to their own organisation or some other. Each organisation may put forward up to two nominations.
Proposal eligibility
The nominated programme or project must:
- Support in an exemplary way one or more of the five music rights enunciated by the IMC.
- Promote innovation.
- Have a positive impact.
- Have the potential for wider influence and/or sustainability.
- Be cost-effective.
- Be in either English, French or Spanish.
Proposal requirements
Applications can be sent electronically to d.grosso@imc-cim.org. The application form can be downloaded here and must include the following:
- Media reports.
- Video (2-3 minutes).
- Promotional materials.
- Testimonies.
- Photographs.
- Audio recordings.
Please do not send more than you consider essential.
The award winner will receive a certificate and a representative of the winning project or programme will be invited to make a brief presentation at the World Forum on Music.
