Classics on Turf brings SA’s premier classical music to Durban

The Durban showcase forms part of the nationally recognised Classics on Turf series, presented in partnership with Telkom. The event has quickly become a platform for cultural storytelling, combining world-class music performances with sport-inspired elegance. Organisers say the expansion to Durban positions the city as a strategic destination for high-value audience engagement and premium brand alignment.

Musically, the Durban edition will feature award-winning singer, songwriter, and cultural icon Msaki, whose genre-defying sound and lyrical depth have earned her international acclaim. She will perform alongside the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra (KZNPO), one of the country’s leading orchestral institutions. The orchestra will be conducted by Kutlwano Masote, a respected conductor and cellist, whose artistic direction promises a seamless integration of classical excellence and contemporary African storytelling.

The 2026 event will take place at Mount Edgecombe Country Club, a venue chosen for its historic significance and reputation for elegance.
