Ghana: 2020 Emerging Music Awards announce winners

Organised by Kusstar Entertainment, the EMAs were established to celebrate promising Ghanaian musical talent working in genres like gospel, highlife, hiplife, hip hop, reggae-dancehall, Afropop and traditional music. 

Jayana beat AY Poyoo, Bosom P Young, Gyakie, Efe Keyz, Ewurama Police, Sherry Boss, Rama Antwi, Teflon Flexx, Euni Melo, Abochi, Don Itchi, Naf Kassi, Iona and Nat Abbey to win the award. After winning, she thanked God, her team and fans for their support throughout her journey.

Highlife artist Abochi won the most awards with two trophies to his name, namely Male Vocalist of the Year and Highlife Artist of the Year. Other winners on the night were rappers Teflon Flexx and Lokal, as well as Efe Keyz and Ssue.

Performances on the night came from Shatta Berry, Stonegyal, Queen of Bars, Rock Anokye, Calista, Lazzybwoy, Krissy, and Blaq Syrup.
