You all know them. And if you're a fan, you'll know they weren't nominated for nothing. Here’s a list of videos to watch to familiarise yourself even more with the artists before the BET Awards on 24 June.

Cassper Nyovest – 'Push Through the Pain'

Cassper Nyovest’s ‘Push Through the Pain’ is a motivational song in which the rapper says that anybody can succeed with passion and fire in the soul. Cassper is the only African hip hop artist to be nominated for the Best International Act Award.

Fally Ipupa – ‘Tout le Monde Danse’

This song is a party invitation to everybody. Fally is calling on everybody to live in the moment because tomorrow is not a sure thing. The song title translates to ‘Everybody Dance’. He wants you to lose your inhabitations and enjoy lives. Fally Ipupa was nominated in the Best International Act category in 2011 and again in 2015

Tiwa Savage ft Omarion – ‘Get It Now Remix’

Tiwa Savage’ always adds a touch of magic to collaborations. The ‘Get It Now’ video was made for those with commitment issues. Tiwa is the only African woman to get nominated in the Best International Act category this year. This is her second BET nomination

Davido – 'Assurance'

Davido has somewhat established himself as a ladies' man who's willing to do anything on Earth to be with the one he loves. From ‘Fall’ to ‘Flora My Flowa’ and 'Assurance', he never fails to show that he is a hopeless romantic acting like a love-sick teenager. Davido walked away victorious in the Best International Act: Africa category in 2014. That category is now defunct, much to the furore of African fans.

Distruction Boyz – 'Omunye'

This is one of the biggest dance songs to come out of South Africa lasrt year. It had men, women and children of all ages and races singing along to its ambiguous hook, “omunye phez’ komunye” (one on top of the other), which is not clear on whether it's referring to a sexual act or a club that is so packed that people are on top of each other. The nomination of Distruction Boyz marks the second time South African gqom music is given a nod by the BET Awards. Babes Wodumo is the other.
