Nigeria: Davido announces three-night Lagos residency at National Theatre

The announcement comes alongside the release of a trailer for the residency and the music video for his song ‘On The Road’.

The residency will mark the first time Davido performs his latest album, ORIADE, in full in Lagos. It will also be among the first multi-night residencies by an Afrobeats artist in Nigeria.

The event coincides with Davido’s 15th year in music and will see him return to Lagos, a city that has played a significant role in his career. He is expected to perform songs from ORIADE alongside some of his established hits, with special guests scheduled to appear across the three nights.

The music video for ‘On The Road’ documents various moments from Davido’s career over the past year, including performances and appearances in Nigeria, Toronto, New York, Morocco, California and Paris.

The footage includes moments from his 5IVE ALIVE World Tour, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, his debut at Coachella and appearances during Paris Fashion Week.

The song’s focus on life on the road takes on added significance as Davido prepares for the Lagos residency, which will bring the tour cycle back to his home country.

Davido has spent the past 15 years building an international career while contributing to the global growth of Afrobeats. He has released six studio albums and worked with artists including Major Lazer, Nelly Furtado, Chris Brown, Black Sherif, Mayorkun, Fola and Leon Thomas.

Earlier in 2026, he completed the 5IVE ALIVE Tour, which travelled across 12 countries on four continents. He also performed at Coachella for the first time.

Davido was featured on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album with the song ‘No Place Like Home’, a collaboration with Major Lazer and Nelly Furtado.

His latest album, ORIADE, features collaborations with Leon Thomas, Black Sherif, Aya Nakamura, Mayorkun, Fola, Llona, NO11, JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay.
