Samthing Soweto to deliver a nostalgic a cappella show in Joburg

Music lovers are in for a rare and unforgettable treat as South African sensation Samthing Soweto returns to his roots for a special a cappella performance. The show, part of the Music In Africa Vibrations concert series, will take place on 21 February at the UJ Theatre in Auckland park.
Vibrations: A Celebration of African Sounds is an initiative of the Music In Africa Foundation’s Instrument Building and Repair (IBR) Project, which aims to preserve and celebrate African musical traditions. This edition will feature Samthing Soweto’s remarkable vocal artistry in its purest form, stripping back his music to highlight the raw emotion and rich harmonies that first captivated fans.

Known for his smooth vocals and seamless fusion of Afro-pop, soul, and jazz, Samthing Soweto has built an illustrious career by pushing musical boundaries. Adding to the evening’s magic, the legendary Dizu Plaatjies will join Samthing Soweto on stage, bringing the rich sounds of indigenous African instruments into the performance.
