It’s been three weeks since South African rapper Cassper Nyovest released the comical video of ‘Ksazobalit’ which is currently sitting at 1.1 million YouTube views. Today, the artist, who has been making headlines with the release of a few singles, has released visuals for the ‘Push Through the Pain’ song taken from his Thuto album.
‘Push Through the Pain’ is a song that speaks about the challenges the rapper has faced. The pain, Nyovest says in the song, contributed to his success, making him one of the best artists in the country.
The video chronicles the story of a female student who works as a stripper to finance her eduction and hospital bills of an ailling family member – she pushes through her own pain.
Nyovest's success is attributed to the number of awards he has won. The 27-year-old rapper is the first South African artist to fill up The Dome. This was followed up by the Orlando and FNB stadiums #FillUp concerts.
Nyovest is the only African hip hop artist who was nominated in the Best International Act Award category at the BET Awards. He is up against Congolese rhumba artist Fally Ipupa, South African gqom duo Distruction Boyz as well as Nigerian artists Tiwa Savage and Davido.
