Wendy Kay

Wendy Kay is a Kenyan RnB artist with a unique sound that blends traditional East African influences with modern production techniques. Born and raised in Kenya, Wendy was exposed to music from an early age and began singing and writing songs as a teenager.
Wendy Kay's musical style is heavily influenced by RnB legends such as Mariah Carey and Tiwa Savage, as well as East African artists like Mpongo Love and Sanaipei Tande. Her songwriting explores themes of love, both romantic and platonic, as well as life experiences and personal growth. Wendy is known for her strong vocal production skills, which have been inspired by artists such as Victoria Monet and Ariana Grande.

Wendy Kay's education and training in music includes a year-long artist development program at Sauti Academy, as well as membership in the perFORM incubator where she honed her skills as a music business creative and live performer. She is also a music producer, having gone through Santuri SEMA production school powered by Ableton and Goethe Institut.

Wendy Kay has performed at various events such as Blankets & Wine, Beneath the Baobab New Year Party, Live at Geco Cafe,Gig Dynamics and in five star hotels and restaurants like Tribe Hotel, Radisson Blu Hotel, Mawimbi Restaurant among others. She has collaborated with artists such as Scar Mkadinali, Polaris, Octopizzo, Njerae, Mr.Lu, and Mbithi the Rapper. Her music has been featured on Netflix films such as 'Sincerely Daisy' and Kenyan acclaimed Youtube movie 'You'.

Referred to as 'The Girl with the Golden Voice', Wendy Kay's vocal style is light, airy, and breathy, yet she can also belt powerful notes with a strong chest voice and beautiful natural head voice. She can also rap from old school hip hop to drill songs. Wendy is also a very good producer, having produced songs yet to be released featuring Polaris and Emmie Muthiga.

Currently, Wendy Kay is working on an upcoming album featuring more of her own musical production and bigger features. With her unique sound and impressive skills as a singer, songwriter, and producer, Wendy Kay is a rising star in the Kenyan music industry.
