South African Music Awards 2024: All the winners

Kabza De Small and Mthunzi followed closely with four and three awards, respectively. Ugatsheni was named Male Artist of the Year, while Lwah Ndlunkulu, QueDj, and Priddy Ugly won Best Afro Pop Album, Best Gqom Album, and Best Hip Hop Album, respectively.

Gospel music was well represented, with Omega Khunou winning Best Traditional Faith Music Album and Xolly Mncwango taking Best Contemporary Faith Music Album for Unusual. The award for Beste Kontemporêre Musiek Album went to Elandré for Estetika while Die Piesangskille won the Beste Pop Album award for Almal Gly.

Previous multiple SAMA winners Ladysmith Black Mambazo received the Best African Indigenous Faith Album award for Soothe My Soul: Songs From Our South African Church. Steve Dyer’s Enhlizweni: Songs From My Heartland earned him the Best Jazz Album award.

The Best Kwaito Album award went to Skyes, while Francois van Coke was recognised in the Best Rock Album category. Sipho Makhabane and Ringo Madlingozi were honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards.
