BIO

Malcolm Lewis is a South African DJ, producer, and creative visionary known for blending deep house grooves with soulful textures and hypnotic rhythms. Founder of Flash Frequency Productions, Lewis has built a reputation for crafting tracks that strike a balance between underground edge and timeless musicality.

Drawing influence from the golden era of Johannesburg’s club scene in the early 2000s, his sound is rooted in deep, groovy, and jackin’ house with touches of Afro, minimal, and melodic elements. His catalog features standout tracks like Spanish Fly, Fool’s Parade, Diamonds and Pearls, Boundaries, and Shades of Envy, each showcasing his ability to fuse storytelling, emotion, and rhythm into unforgettable dancefloor journeys.

Beyond the booth and studio, Lewis is also a dancer and spoken word artist, bringing an interdisciplinary approach to music that gives his performances a unique energy. His projects — from concept EPs and thematic albums (Propaganda and Sublime Nation) to experimental crossovers in minimal and Afro Deep — reveal his commitment to pushing boundaries while staying true to house music’s roots.

With an ear for detail, a love for groove, and a dedication to building communities through workshops and creative projects, Malcolm Lewis continues to carve out his place as one of South Africa’s most versatile and forward-thinking artists.
