MetroBeatz RSA explores love and ambition in ‘Superstar’ visualiser
13 Aug 2026 - 12:59
South African Xigaza artist MetroBeatz RSA has released a visualiser for his latest single, ‘Superstar’, featuring Lowfeye.
MetroBeatz RSA.
The visualiser explores the tension between pursuing a music career and maintaining personal relationships, portraying the emotional cost of prioritising ambition and success.
Set against culturally rooted imagery, the video follows an artist navigating the challenges of building a career while trying to preserve a relationship. Its narrative examines the choices and sacrifices that can accompany the pursuit of recognition.
The collaboration also brings together different cultural influences, with MetroBeatz RSA drawing from the Xigaza and Tsonga music movements, while Lowfeye contributes elements of his Zulu musical background. The visualiser uses this intersection of cultures to reinforce the song's themes of connection and identity.
Rather than serving solely as a visual accompaniment to the track, the release expands on its central narrative and explores the pressures faced by young creatives attempting to balance professional ambitions with relationships and their cultural identities.
The visualiser forms part of a broader creative rollout planned by MetroBeatz RSA, with further collaborations and visual projects expected as he develops his sound and explores different aspects of South Africa's musical and cultural landscape.
