Open call: The Hopper Prize 2026 grants

Established in 2018, the grant-making institution and digital platform supports artists at different stages of their careers, including emerging, mid-career and established practitioners. Its programme combines financial support with opportunities to gain visibility through its digital archive.

The Hopper Prize awards a total of USD 26,000 in grants annually, distributed as follows:

• Four artists receive $4 500 each.
• Eight artists receive $1 000 each.

The grants are unrestricted, allowing recipients to use the funding in support of their artistic practice.

A further 60 artists are selected each year for inclusion in the Hopper Prize digital archive, with 30 artists chosen during each grant cycle. The archive is intended to increase artists’ visibility among international curators, gallery owners, collectors and wider arts audiences.

The open call accepts submissions across all visual art disciplines and welcomes work in any medium. Applicants are assessed on artistic excellence and their potential for future development.

The opportunity is open to:

• Artists working in any medium.
