Call for registrations: Music Business Academy for Africa training programme
Individuals interested in acquiring knowledge in talent management and the entertainment industry as a whole can now register to be part of the Music Business Academy for Africa, which is Music Business Africa’s three-month training programme commencing on 7 September.
The Music Business Academy for Africa provides platforms for people looking to advance their knowledge of the continent's growing entertainment space.
The training programme seeks to equip students in the areas of talent management, media, content development, event organisation and production, among others.
The masterclass is curated by Nigerian consultant Godwin Tom and the course will “help nurture music enthusiasts who want careers in the music space as agents, A&R and more, who will get lessons tailor-made for them,” the academy said.
Facilitators include Iredumare Opeyemi (head of legal and partnership at MTN Group), Wiseman Qinani Ngubo (chief operations officer of CAPASSO), Archie Davis (senior vice-president of marketing at RCA Records, CEO of Six Course Music Group), Uche Briggs (brands and culture lead at Olive Tree Consults), Ruddy Kwakye (founder and chairperson of Muse Media Networks), Adaora Mbelu (founder of Lumination Global Network) and Piriye Isokrari (founder and CEO of Aristokrat Group).
The courses are divided into three modules: Management and A&R, Music and the Law, and Brand and Music Marketing.
