The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) is proud of its partnership with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) as a Strategic Implementing Partner (SIP) for its Social Employment Fund (SEF). Through this collaboration, MIAF is running a national programme that is creating jobs, addressing skills gaps, and strengthening South Africa's creative industries — in line with the SEF's overarching goal to generate work for the common good and build community value through employment, social contribution, and inclusive economic participation. Operating under the banner NEFCISA (National Employment Facility for Creative Industries in South Africa), the initiative is recruiting and training participants, matching them with host organisations, and has already placed 1 500 workers across the country — surpassing its original target of 1 000. NEFCISA is delivered through a network of 20 host organisations spanning five provinces, who are actively hosting participants and contributing to work for the common good across South Africa's creative and cultural industries. Key Objectives: Support employment and entrepreneurship in the creative industries. Offer skills development and training programmes. Foster partnerships between public and private creative sectors. For cultural and creative practitioners and organisations operating in southern Africa, access to funding remains a major challenge. The COVID-19 pandemic has also had a massive impact on government policy, spending and the economy in general, and has seen spending on culture being moved further down the list of priorities. Further, the cultural and creative industries repeatedly cite four main areas where investment is needed for growth, which are increased visibility, mobility including access to new markets, finance and support structures.

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has officially released his highly anticipated fifth studio album, 5IVE, a 17-track genre-blending project that reaffirms his status as one of the most influential and versatile artists of his generation.

Davido.

At the centre of the album is the standout single ‘Offa Me’, featuring Grammy-winning artist Victoria Monét. The energetic track, produced by Haitian DJ and record producer Michael Brun, effortlessly fuses Afrobeats, R&B, and soul, showcasing the pair’s natural chemistry. The accompanying music video, directed by KLVDR and filmed in Los Angeles, premiered today. It delivers a vibrant visual narrative featuring a dynamic dance sequence performed by both Monét and Davido.

“Offa Me came together so naturally, pure energy, pure music,” Davido said. “Victoria is such an incredible artist, and our sounds blended in a way that felt effortless. It’s that perfect mix of both our worlds – something sexy, but still makes you move.”

5IVE is a culturally rich album that explores a spectrum of sounds, from high-energy Afrobeats to smooth R&B, reggaeton, and dancehall. The album sees Davido embrace his global influence while remaining grounded in his African heritage. The project features an impressive roster of collaborators, including Chris Brown, Becky G, Omah Lay, Odumodublvck, Shenseea, Tayc, Dadju, YG Marley, and South African artist Musa Keys, among others.

“This 5IVE album? It means everything to me,” Davido shared. “It’s more than just a number – it’s a statement of where I stand, five albums in. Working with artists I admire from across the world was a blessing. Different sounds, different cultures – one vibe. This project reflects my growth, my journey, and who I am now, both as an artist and as a man.”

Following the massive success of his 2023 hit ‘Unavailable’ with Musa Keys, Davido continues to evolve his signature sound. The album includes ‘Titanium’, a new collaboration with long-time friend and collaborator Chris Brown, building on the success of their Grammy-nominated 2023 single Sensational.

To mark the release of 5IVE, Davido embarked on a five-city underplay tour, performing in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Paris, and London. The intimate shows gave fans a rare, close-up experience of the new material. Joining him on stage during the North American leg were featured artists from the album including Victoria Monét, Shenseea, 450, and YG Marley.

This week, Davido arrived in the UK, performing an exclusive live show at London’s Exhibition on the eve of the album’s release. He also partnered with leading cultural platform Cultur.FM to host an immersive listening event attended by fans, influencers, celebrity guests, and industry figures.
