Born born July 21 1990, MAD DOGG, real name Thato Setseta is a South African hip-hop recording artist from Mahwelereng, Limpopo. The artist is best known for being one of few independent artists in the country to reach commercial successs.
His music career kicked off in in 2009 when he self-released, self-marketed and hand-to-hand distributed his mix-tape beats, which received a lot of acclaim, with a number of original beats getting playlisted on several topping numerous music charts.
On 15 March 2010, he independently released his debut single titled 'Respek'. The single was well-received and featured Trigger from The Hustlers. Some of the songs from his singles featured on numerous charts including, Reverbnation Weekly Charts, Soundcloud Chart, Audiomack Chart, voted number in Mokopane for best producer Top 10 Chart.
At that time, he became the first hip-hop artist to have two songs in the Top 10 of the Mokopane chart at the same time. Among his recognitions, he was nominated for top 5 beat makers in Mahwelereng.
On 8 November 2013, he released his third single 'Ke Summer Nou' through a licensing partnership between the artist and Electromode [Music and Business Solutions] and debuted at number 2 on Reverbnation Hip Hop chart.
On July 13, 2015, MAD DOGG's single titled 'Tsa Kasi' was released. The single features production from South African hip hop record label 3RD EYE 6EATS.
MAD DOGG has worked with a number of South African artists, namely, Pvpiii, Kayb Fresh, Trigger, Psycho Path, Nitchy Divyne, Leekay March, Da Koolkid, Vusi, X-Rays, Mkhure, Dj Nteeza, Dj Versatile and Isreal, Forbes, Slayzy and Leonaj. MAD DOGG has worked with numerous artists all over Limpopo, and African rapper and producer Tony Blaze from Ghana.
He has performed several times in different Provinces and has opened his very own Independent Record Label ‘3RD EYE 6EATS’, MAD DOGG start another career as Producer, Songwriter, Director, Photography, Actor, Professional Entertainer and Artist, Professional Beatmaker.
