Lukhanyo Mzanywa (MBL Legitimate) is a versatile recording artist, record producer, songwriter, and composer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Music has always been his calling since a very young age, with Lukhanyo first picking up the drums at just 8 or 9 years old. His early talent quickly earned him the title of the youngest drummer at his church, and this sparked a lifelong passion for music.

Driven by a desire to create and craft music from scratch, Lukhanyo honed his skills over the years, eventually mastering the art of writing, composing, recording, mixing, and mastering his own tracks. His ability to do it all allows him to bring a unique, personal touch to each of his projects.

MBL Legitimate's journey into the professional music world took a major leap forward when he signed a distribution deal with V Music Group. This partnership marked the debut of his first official single, The Ballers Dream, which was made available on all major digital streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and more. Prior to this, Lukhanyo had been building a following by releasing music on SoundCloud.

With V Music Group, he also launched his debut EP under the label EVOKE, introducing his listeners to a new phase of his musical career. His work showcases a deep passion for music and an emotional connection that resonates with his audience.

While MBL Legitimate is highly skilled in various aspects of music production, he’s also huge on collaboration. His first-ever song, The Ballers Dream, was written by the Chadwin Lesego Mamashela, and it’s a testament to how Lukhanyo values teamwork in his creative process. By bringing in fresh perspectives, his music has an emotional depth that creates a connection with listeners, ensuring they feel understood and never alone.
