Nem R is a soulful singer, hardcore rapper, and instinctive lyricist from Nairobi, Kenya. Her music blends soul, jazz, Afro, reggae, and timeless sounds, creating a unique and captivating experience. Nem R’s sound is authentic, boundary-breaking, and versatile.
Her ability to blend genres and craft poetic, emotionally charged lyrics makes her stand out.
She makes deep, conscious music. Her voice carries a lithium tone, it is deeply meditative and raw. Nem writes thought-provoking lyrics and her music resonates with a wide audience ranging from 18 to 65 years.
She releases an EP series called AREA three times a year and so far 8 of these have been rolled out. Each AREA has 3 to 4 songs. They represent phases in her life and musical journey. In her debut mixtape “AREA 7” she reflects:
