NEFCISA

The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) is proud of its partnership with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) as a Strategic Implementing Partner (SIP) for its Social Employment Fund (SEF). Through this collaboration, MIAF is running a national programme that is creating jobs, addressing skills gaps, and strengthening South Africa's creative industries — in line with the SEF's overarching goal to generate work for the common good and build community value through employment, social contribution, and inclusive economic participation. Operating under the banner NEFCISA (National Employment Facility for Creative Industries in South Africa), the initiative is recruiting and training participants, matching them with host organisations, and has already placed 1 500 workers across the country — surpassing its original target of 1 000. NEFCISA is delivered through a network of 20 host organisations spanning five provinces, who are actively hosting participants and contributing to work for the common good across South Africa's creative and cultural industries. Key Objectives: Support employment and entrepreneurship in the creative industries. Offer skills development and training programmes. Foster partnerships between public and private creative sectors. Promote South African creativity at both provincial and national levels Foster community development through social contribution.

For cultural and creative practitioners and organisations operating in southern Africa, access to funding remains a major challenge. The COVID-19 pandemic has also had a massive impact on government policy, spending and the economy in general, and has seen spending on culture being moved further down the list of priorities. Further, the cultural and creative industries repeatedly cite four main areas where investment is needed for growth, which are increased visibility, mobility including access to new markets, finance and support structures.

Siyanda Nkosi AMN (Siyanda Brains Nkosi) is a South African Musical Artist, Actor and Modeller, Writer, Music and Film producer.
Siyanda grew up in the slums of Pinetown in a small Urban area known as Motala Heights, He started his journey in Music at the age of 11 as a hobby in Primary School (Parlmiet Primary School) alongside four of his then friends they formed a Hip-hop crew called ‘Wolfgang’ in which they wrote and performed a lot of incredible songs in school. After grade 7 the end of their Primary school years and start of a new Phase the Four friends would eventually face a tragic ending because they all stayed in different areas and in that time none of them had mobile phones or even knew how to contact one another from a distance this led to the end of their journey as Wolfgang but even though the Four friends lost contact with Each other Siyanda Nkosi AMN continued his journey in Music to a point where it wasn’t just a hobby anymore but a Career to him.

“Music was more of an Escape from reality and into this perfect world where everything feels just fine and when you in this world you feel like you ain’t got a single problem to worry about it’s like meditation, I would hold a pen and a paper and just pour out my mind, heart and soul, I would talk about everything that’s troubling me but in a systematic way that created rhythms with rhymes and in that moment a portal opens up and sucks you in, You then find yourself in this Utopia free from your Demons, worries, stress, depression, Anxiety it’s magical.” says Siyanda Nkosi AMN

At the age of 16 When he discovered that music actually pays and it’s possibly one of the highest paying industries in the world it was then that he started taking it serious seeing it as a career instead of a hobby
“Back in grade 7, 8 and 9 music was just a thing that kept me going through the day and because I come from a poor background I didn’t really find myself in a studio until I got my first laptop, it wasn’t the best laptop but it sure brought out the spirit of Music in me, I would use headset microphones covered with sox to record it’s kinda crazy but I’d record great songs and when my laptop broke I used My cell phone to record my songs and as bad as the quality was the people still loved my music and that actually motivated me a lot.” says Siyanda Nkosi AMN

He later found himself associated with Bawinile Foundation a Youth Empowering company based in Tshelimnyama/Pinetown
“It was around 2018 when I found myself associated with the foundation, I was in Pinetown with a friend of mine (Luyanda Maduma) whom I did music with, We were looking for a recording Studio around town and so we found ourselves in the Bawinile Foundation Offices in Pinetown it was the cheapest recording studio in town, Bonginkosi Sah Zungu known as Nceku the CEO of the foundation insisted I join the foundation and from there on The Foundation and I became family and they’ve helped me with a lot like growing my brand as an Artist and becoming who I am today.” Says Siyanda Nkosi AMN

The Musician is now focused on his own Recording studio/Record Label (124House Of Pain Entertainment) and his Film production company (Clauneck Studios)
