NEFCISA

The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) is proud of its partnership with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) as a Strategic Implementing Partner (SIP) for its Social Employment Fund (SEF). Through this collaboration, MIAF is running a national programme that is creating jobs, addressing skills gaps, and strengthening South Africa's creative industries — in line with the SEF's overarching goal to generate work for the common good and build community value through employment, social contribution, and inclusive economic participation. Operating under the banner NEFCISA (National Employment Facility for Creative Industries in South Africa), the initiative is recruiting and training participants, matching them with host organisations, and has already placed 1 500 workers across the country — surpassing its original target of 1 000. NEFCISA is delivered through a network of 20 host organisations spanning five provinces, who are actively hosting participants and contributing to work for the common good across South Africa's creative and cultural industries. Key Objectives: Support employment and entrepreneurship in the creative industries. Offer skills development and training programmes. Foster partnerships between public and private creative sectors. Promote South African creativity at both provincial and national levels Foster community development through social contribution.

For cultural and creative practitioners and organisations operating in southern Africa, access to funding remains a major challenge. The COVID-19 pandemic has also had a massive impact on government policy, spending and the economy in general, and has seen spending on culture being moved further down the list of priorities. Further, the cultural and creative industries repeatedly cite four main areas where investment is needed for growth, which are increased visibility, mobility including access to new markets, finance and support structures.

Jordan Adetunji

BIO

Jordan Adetunji is a hip hop artist and songwriter from Belfast, the UK. His dynamic style and undoubted stage presence bring excitement and an unquestionable feel-good vibe to each live performance. Jordan is a trend setter among his peers as he pioneer his way through the Island of Ireland and bringing others with him as he creates following from all backgrounds of people.

Jordan and his exceptionally talented bandmates are at the forefront of this genre in Northern Ireland at a time when Hip-hop/Rnb music has been performing exceptionally well internationally. Jordan and his team have been pushing the boundaries with experimental sounds, digital lighting effects, and a huge catalogue of original music.

His sing-along tracks get everyone involved as he "spits cleverly written bars" around bold rhythmic instrumentation, switching from emo-rap to earthy sing-song at any given time. Expect heart-wrenching hooks and lines of vivid poetry, flawlessly mixed with a melody that will sink into your soul.

Renowned for commanding an eclectic array of genres, Belfast-Northern Ireland-based powerhouse Jordan Adetunji summons his own strain of emo-rap, breaking all the rules with his genre. He is known for merging rap, afro-pop with post-punk feel-infused RnB.

His music has cultural influences drawn from Nigerian and African Afro-beat as displayed in some of his songs such as “Noticed You”. You will hear the modern rhythmic root sounds of Afro-beats resonating through in his unique blend of genres. Jordan emo-style rap blended with the African vibe has been a treat to Festivals in N. Ireland and the UK. His sound is refreshing, addictive, and mesmerising for those who have seen him performing live with his huge band.

The NME International Entertainment Magazine featured artist has not only been a great ambassador for Northern Ireland but also for Africa. His energy and fashion are vibrant which is the best representation of African culture. Jordan is an all-around musician who also plays the trumpet which he incorporates into his music compositions drawing on influences from a diversity of genres.

The positive messages Jordan touches on in his music ranges from the feel-good party vibes to challenging racism and even touching on subjects such as mental health. He often spreads positivity through his songs, inspiring them to believe in themselves and aspire for a better future. Jordan touches on these subjects and always pushes positive messages to his audience at festivals and the songs he releases so that they can always take away something from his music and message.

Having established a reputation for keeping his fans guessing, the Belfast icon consistently ups the calibre of the quality in his releases. This time around, his latest single “Angel” concise lyrics explore themes of emotional distance and the painful desire for growth that follows his story as one of the most original artists about.

Adding a new dimension to the already poignant track is a heart-wrenching video, the same creative vision helped his previous single ‘WokeUp!’ to shoot into the stars last summer. How his new hot composition focuses on a powerful narrative of childhood attachment torn apart by the racist environment they are surrounded by.

Tackling negative emotions has become a signature for the trailblazer, with ‘Angel’ only strengthening the young artist’s determination to lead a generation of artists from N. Ireland into a new era, while dropping another gem that will surely maintain his skyward trajectory.

The Alternative Hip-Hop Artist has currently gained huge momentum with his recent releases with his tracks being featured in huge Spotify playlists such as Alternative Hip-Hop, Chillmatic, New Punk Tracks, as well as Rap UK and Fresh Finds Rock and Afro-bashment showing how any track or genre he touches how rated they are.

His feel-good energetic vibe is taking everybody by shock anytime they see him live with his ever-growing base of supporters with his tracks being playlisted across UK and Irish Radio, RTE, BBC Radio 1, and BBC 1 Xtra and features on all major National Television.
