BIO

Skuki is a Nigerian pop duo made up of two brothers. Tumininu Laolu-Oguniyi and Atewologun Laolu-Ogunniyi have the monikers Vavavoom and Peeshaun. Born to a television producer father, the brothers featured in television programmes as children and performed for former Head of State Ibrahim Babangida.

Their interest in professional music began after their secondary school, building on it in collge. While Vavavoom attended the University of Lagos and Peeshaun University of Ibadan, both studying non-performance related courses.

In 1999, they chose and began performing under the name ‘Skuki’. But only released their first official song ‘Fire’ in 2008. Success came quickly as their second single ‘Banger’ featuring DJ Zeez (2009) was a hit in Nigeria. The duo won the Next Rated category at the 2010 Headies. They have since released several singles with varying success as fans wait for a debut album from the duo.

In 2013, Skuki was included in a list of musicians with songs banned by the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation for 'obscene lyrics or visuals'.
