The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) is proud of its partnership with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) as a Strategic Implementing Partner (SIP) for its Social Employment Fund (SEF). Through this collaboration, MIAF is running a national programme that is creating jobs, addressing skills gaps, and strengthening South Africa's creative industries — in line with the SEF's overarching goal to generate work for the common good and build community value through employment, social contribution, and inclusive economic participation. Operating under the banner NEFCISA (National Employment Facility for Creative Industries in South Africa), the initiative is recruiting and training participants, matching them with host organisations, and has already placed 1 500 workers across the country — surpassing its original target of 1 000. NEFCISA is delivered through a network of 20 host organisations spanning five provinces, who are actively hosting participants and contributing to work for the common good across South Africa's creative and cultural industries. Key Objectives: Support employment and entrepreneurship in the creative industries. Offer skills development and training programmes. Foster partnerships between public and private creative sectors. Promote South African creativity at both provincial and national levels Foster community development through social contribution.

For cultural and creative practitioners and organisations operating in southern Africa, access to funding remains a major challenge. The COVID-19 pandemic has also had a massive impact on government policy, spending and the economy in general, and has seen spending on culture being moved further down the list of priorities. Further, the cultural and creative industries repeatedly cite four main areas where investment is needed for growth, which are increased visibility, mobility including access to new markets, finance and support structures.

BIO

WALK SALINDANI MLUNGISI MHLONGO was born on the 18 TH OF SEPTEMBER 1985 in
Nongoma in Kwa-Zulu Natal at Kwa mandlakazi in Kwa matsheketshe, in South Africa. He has 8
siblings and he is the third one. He grew up in that village and that is where he learnt his identity as Zulu
person. Kwamatsheketshe was the small village that was facing low service delivery, no basic needs
such as; proper schools, water and electricity, and no proper roads and there was no development. And
that made it difficult for him to even making it to school, hence his grandfather made him dropout of
school to go and look after the cattle. And he Lindani was staying with his grandparents, whom didn’t
care about education or its values to a person’s life. His parents were at Johannesburg working. And at
the age of 16 years, he then went to Mpumalanga at a small township called Piet Retief and that is
where he became exposed on different things.
Mpumalanga gave him some basic ideas about art and he didn’t explore much because he had no
resources to outshine. On 2013 he moved from Mpumalanga to Johannesburg to stay with his mother.
Johannesburg is the city that has plenty opportunities and his love of Art became varied. He moved to a
location called Eden Park at Ekurhuleni Municipality and that is where, he got involved into Christianity,
at the Zion church called Ubuhle Bamajerusalema. At this church he was then appointed as youth
leader and that is where he met a guy named Themba Mbane and they both convince the church to go
and record, indeed they had their first album. The church couldn’t go on with the second album, due to
financial crisis. Lindani, he then gathered the young people of Eden Park and they did a film, and
fortunate enough, they succeeded on the film because they were assisted by Mr. John Black Mthembu
with the equipment to produce the film and name of the film was called Crime Doesn’t Pay.
The film became vital and vibrant to the community of Eden Park and as well as Ekurhuleni as whole.
That is where his skill as the director and also the passion that he has about neither his community nor
his self and he was well recognized because he flabbergasted the people of his community. Lindani in his
acting career, he worked with the company called KSB Filming Production and was 2015 until 2017, and
he was the main character on the film, that he did with this company and the film was called Iphupho
and this film went vital because it’s even got played at Soweto TV. And he then did the second film
called Jozi Miapher and even though his second film didn’t succeeded as the first film that they
produced and on this film, he was a thief, and is where he got much skill on acting and also getting to
know more about the whole production. And their last film was called Ubukhosi (kingdom) and he was
also a main character in that play. And after that, he then realizes that he needed to have something of
in his own.

LIDANI MLUNGISI MHLONGO
Indeed, on 2016 December, he then registered his own company called Walk SA Top Dreams (Pty) Ltd
and in his company he started shows that aims to inspire young people and also giving them
opportunities to fight for unemployment and moreover , doing what is write as youth. Initial he had an
idea of what can they do as young people in order to be literate, independent, and financial free and
fighting inequality. And the is where the name” Walk SA” came from. On 2017 December he did an
event for June 16 and got funded by Ekurhuleni Municipality. Early 2017 he then decided to follow his
music career under his company, where he worked with Mr. Papi Msengane the music producer from
Congo and he produced his first song called UBOTHI UNGAYIBONA INDLELA and not only that ,he is a
film Writer, a Song Writer, an Event Organizer, a Singer, an Actor and Rapper and a Motivational
