Apple Music offers three-month trial to PlayStation Plus members
30 Dec 2025 - 07:22
Apple Music has partnered with Sony to offer PlayStation Plus subscribers up to three months of free access to its streaming service, as part of a late-year effort to attract new users.
The offer is available to PlayStation Plus members who do not currently have an active Apple Music subscription. Eligibility also depends on a user’s subscription history, with some returning subscribers reporting that the trial is discounted rather than fully free.
To redeem the offer, users must download the Apple Music app from the Media section of the PlayStation 5 interface, sign in with an Apple account and follow the on-screen instructions. An Apple account can be created during the process if the user does not already have one.
Several users have noted on online forums that the offer does not apply to those with an active Apple Music subscription or those already using a free trial. Others reported receiving a reduced-price offer instead of full free access.
Apple Music’s standard individual plan is priced at $10.99 per month, making a three-month trial equivalent to more than $30 in value. By restricting the promotion to PlayStation Plus members, Apple appears to be targeting gamers who are already accustomed to subscription-based services.
PlayStation 5 remains the most widely owned console among gamers, accounting for approximately 45% of console ownership, compared with around 23% for Microsoft’s Xbox.
The promotion follows a broader push by Apple Music to expand its subscriber base. Earlier this month, General Motors announced that Apple Music would be directly integrated into the infotainment systems of select vehicles, including the 2025 and 2026 Cadillac CT5, as well as the 2026 Corvette, Suburban and Tahoe. The integration is expected to extend to the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt, along with selected Buick and GMC models.
