Bio
Born on 24 January 1993, Jonas Mungungu, better known by his stage name Boet, is an award-winning Namibian kwaito musician. Boet started his career as part of the Skulvets, a group which released a mixtape album in 2007. He was also a backup artist and dancer who opened shows for South Africa’s Zola, Malaika, Msawawa, Mandoza, Brown Dash and Ishmael, among others.
In 2013, Boet moved to Windhoek upon graduating from high school. He enrolled for a Law degree at Triumphant College but dropped out after one academic year to pursue a career in music. His 2013 single ‘Hard Work’ featured Satlam, Neslow and Omsaane Niihana and was well received, winning Best Kwaito Song at the 2013 Energy 100FM Kwaito Top Ten Awards, as well as Song of the Year and Best Single at the 2014 Namibian Annual Music Awards.
Mungungu, who owns a record label, Certified Entertainment, and a fashion line, Certified Clothings, has made various performances in countries such as Angola, Zambia and South Africa.
