THE BRIDGET PIKE EXPERIENCE,
IS A NEWLY FORMED JAZZ,SOUL,R&B,FUNK QUARTET FROM JOHANNESBURG SOUTH AFRICA.
BIOGRAPHY
On the 10th of February 2019 the band met at an event in Norwood, Johannesburg. Bridget Pike
who had come to see the various acts asked the band if she could freestyle with them and they agreed. Little did they know two years later they would officially be reintroduced and form -The Bridget Pike Experience.

An accomplished actress , singer and all round entertainer who has performed all over the globe. Best known for her television roles and travel show on SABC 3 - On the fly. Her music career began early and has worked with the likes of Bongani Fassie, and other big names in the industry. Locally and internationally he has performed for Presidents and official delegates namely, Mr. Nelson Mandela, and composed an original song in honor of him after his passing, entitled from the Banks. She toured the Sichuan province of China with her group - Sichuanfro, heading the American Independence Day celebrations in Chengdu. She is best known for her versatility in most genres and improvisational skills.

Daluxolo Lukhanyo Mqwathi
, is a multifaceted bassist, trained classically with the double bass, as well as thebass guitar. Disiplined in all genres , the versatile musician plays regularly in orchestras, both symphony andchamber. His diverse portfolio has seen him tour both locally and internationally with the likes of UmbaqangaweBlues a fusion of African and American jazz.
He is the principal double bassist for Buskaid string Ensemble where he has performed in the UK under the baton of Karl Jenkins and Sir John Eliot Gardiner.
Obakeng Mabitsela
was born on the 24th of November 1993 at Meadowlands clinic at Soweto. As a child, he was exposed to gospel, blues and jazz throughout his family as a whole. By his mid-teens, he was already drumming in the style of his early influences.
Obakeng began service in the local church (African Evangelical Church) in 2008 where he played as a church musician. In the year 2013, he began his formal learning at Central Johannesburg College where he studied for his qualification in Jazz and Popular music.
He got his breakout gig with Kevin Maduna with whom they later formed a band called Kevin Maduna and the Love World. Obakeng got to play with the band on stages like Joy of Jazz, Go-West Festival and Macufe. A ew years later, he got to be part of a band called Umbaqanga We Blues and played on stages like the Orbit, Winnie's Jazz Restaurant and Nikki's Restaurant just to name a few.
He’s now recently a part of a newly formed band called the Bridget Pike Experience (The B.P.E) in which he hopes to further his reach and make more magic.
