Call for applications: 2020 Guitare en Scène festival in France
Guitare en Scène (Guitar on Stage) festival is calling on musicians from around the world to submit music performance videos for an opportunity to showcase at the 2020 edition of the event in Saint-Julien-en-Genevois, France, from 16 to 19 July.
Applications can be submitted by musical groups, whether amateur, professional or signed with a record company.
Participants can send their work via email in the form of a Dropbox or Google Drive link to tremplin.ges@gmail.com. The name of the group must appear in the subject line of the email.
The submission deadline is 9 February 2020 and successful candidates will be announced at the beginning of March 2020.
The festival selection committee will assess submissions, and 12 participating groups will be selected to perform in front of a jury.
After the performances, the jury will meet in May to deliberate and select the three groups that will be invited to the Guitare en Scène festival. Each group will receive €250 (about $280) to cover the cost of production.
At the end of the festival, the winning group (or artist) will be chosen by the jury and awarded €750.
Requirements
- A link to video performance.
- Original composition in MP3 format (max four songs).
- A detailed technical sheet with the stage plan.
- Photos (two max).
- Biography of the group.
- A scan of the registration form, dated and signed.
- A scan of the rules and guidelines, dated and signed by the group representative.
- A scan of the parental authorisation form for minor candidates, dated and signed.
Note that the guitar is the only instrument required to apply.
Remuneration
- There will be no performance fee, as the showcase is meant to promote the artists.
- Travel expenses to the concert venue in France will entirely be at the cost of the group.
- The meals of the group members (musicians, technician and manager) will be provided by the organiser during the concert evenings, to the exclusion of any other accompanying persons.
