Call for applications: DOADOA performing arts market
Interested individuals or groups can now apply for the DOADOA East African Performing Arts Market taking place in May 2018 at the Uganda Museum, Kampala.
DOADOA is a joint initiative of a number of creative entrepreneurs in East Africa that have come together to unlock the potential of the East African creative industry by providing an annual platform for professionals within the industry to learn and network.
This is a unique opportunity for stakeholders within the music industry to take part in conferences, discussions, seminars and practical training workshops conducted by regional and international experts from the industry. Artists will also be provided with a platform to showcase their work.
For musicians and bands this will be a great career opportunity as they shall be performing in the presence of producers, concert and tour bookers, festival programmers, record labels, distributors, journalists and many other industry professionals.
DOADOA registration is under three categories:
1. As Panelist / Discussant
Experts have until 31st January 2018 to submit their proposals for qualitative presentations /panel discussions and workshops exploring the state and peculiarities of the regional music industry, spotlighting local/regional musical traditions and their evolution, presenting new (policy) trends, markets and technologies, identifying pressing industry challenges, providing (business) advice to participants or sharing your experiences.
2. As Artist / Group
Up and coming musicians and bands from East Africa have until 31st January 2018 to submit a press kit, a minimum of three songs and a minimum of two photographs.
3. As Delegate / exhibitor
Participants have until 15 April 2018 to book for a stall. Delegates/attendees are expected to pay a registration with a fee of $14 which will give them access to the day-time conference and evening showcase programme and exhibition. Exhibitors are required to pay $82 artists are expected to pay $54 prior to the event.
