The Museum of Women’s History of Zambia, in partnership with the National Museum of World Culture in Sweden, is calling on Zambian creatives to submit samples of work for its Fabri-CATED Stories project.
The call seeks to promote local creatives to develop creative products inspired by the research that the Museum of Women’s History is doing on original Zambian objects and artefacts. The collaborative project is centred around cultural object repatriation through digital means and works to address the gap in cultural knowledge.
Artists in the following arts disciplines should apply:
- Music.
- Art.
- Media.
- Graphic design.
- Fashion design.
Finalists will be supported to develop creative works that will be exhibited at the National Museums of World Culture in Sweden and the Women’s History Museum in Zambia.
“We are looking for creatives engaged in music, art, media, graphic design, fashion design and creative writing to participate in the Fabric-ATED Stories project to curate creative products and art inspired by our research on indigenous Zambian projects and artefacts,” a statement reads. “The call is in line with thye Museum of Women’s History’s mission to cultivate cultural heritage preservation and its partnership with the National Museum of World Culture to conceive the project.
Interested creatives should submit their profiles and portfolios/samples of their work to [email protected]. Successful applicants will be contacted with further details.
The submission deadline is 17 March.
