Nigeria’s Kohdee teams up with Tekno on Go Well
Rising Afrobeats singer Kohdee has released a new song titled ‘Go Well’. The amapiano-leaning record is available for streaming and download on various digital platforms(link is external).
Produced by Ransom Beatz, the song is Kohdee’s second single this year, after ‘Mr Fantastic’. It guests fellow Nigerian act Tekno.
Thematically, the track is a self-affirming anthem that finds Kohdee(link is external) expressing readiness to conquer the music industry and overcome any obstacle. The lyrics reflect his journey, highlighting progress and an unwavering dedication to bringing pride to his community.
Kohdee says the record is an “empowering composition that encapsulates my unwavering determination, purpose, and commitment.”
He adds: “Indifferent to external opinions, my mission is to surpass previous boundaries and set new standards, not only for myself but also for my loved ones.”
Tekno, the renowned singer, songwriter and producer, is behind hits such as ‘Duro’, ‘Pana’ and ‘Skeletun’, among others. His notable accolades include nominations for Best New Music Act at the 2016 MTV Africa Music Awards, Song of the Year at the 2016 Soundcity MVP Awards, and Best International Act Africa at the 2017 BET Awards. In 2019, he also featured on Beyoncé's The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack album.
Kohdee, born Ogechukwu Otu, blends Afrobeats, pop and and R&B, and has been making waves in the music industry since 2018. In 2020, he unveiled his debut seven-track EP The Link featuring collaborations with artists like 1da Banton. In August, he signed to Troniq Music, which is also home to singer Oxlade.
