Stonebwoy announces summer festival tour
Ghanaian reggae-dancehall singer Stonebwoy will be embarking on a summer festival tour in support of his latest single ‘Therapy’.
The musician will visit eight cities across Europe and North America from 24 June to 13 August, including Porto (Portugal), Cologne (Germany), Uppsala (Sweden), Toronto (Canada) and Eindhoven (the Netherlands), among others.
The tour arrives on the heels of Stonebwoy’s appearance in seven international music festivals earlier this year, most notably Planet Afropunk Live in the US and the City Splash Festival in the UK.
Released on 3 May as Stonebwoy’s debut single under Universal Music Group divisions Def Jam Recordings, 0207 Def Jam and Def Jam Africa, ‘Therapy’ is a delicate pop number that blends R&B and soul.
Thematically, the song speaks to romantic love and heralds Album 5, which is due sometime this year.
“‘Therapy’ is a pure make of some of the styles that influence my creativity,” Stonebwoy told Music In Africa in May.
Born Livingstone Satekla, Stonebwoy has maintained a dominant presence in Ghana’s pop scene since 2012. Behind a long list of commercially successful records, Stonebwoy’s craft often finds him melding Afropop, dancehall and reggae.
