Full artist line-up for Bob Marley Africa Unite tribute album unveiled
Island Records has unveiled the full line-up of the artists featured on the Africa Unite posthumous album in honour of reggae legend Bob Marley.
The project, done in collaboration with contemporary musicians from across the continent, is available across all major digital platforms.
The 10-track project aims to carry on the icon’s influence while connecting the past and present through his music.
Since January, Island Records has been releasing singles off the upcoming album, starting with a new version of the singer’s 1973 hit ‘Stir It Up’ featuring Sarkodie (Ghana), followed by a remake of ‘Waiting in Vain’ with Tiwa Savage (Nigeria) and then ‘Three Little Birds featuring Oxlade (Nigeria) and Teni (Nigeria) arrived a month ago. Other classics that have been reimagined include ‘Redemption Song’, ‘Jamming’ and ‘One Love’.
The other artists on the project are Rema (Nigeria), Ayra Starr (Nigeria), Patoranking Nigeria),Nutty O (Zimbabwe), Winky D (Zimbabwe), Stonebwoy (Ghana), Ami Faku (South Africa) and Afro B (Ivory Coast). Skip Marley, Bob Marley’s grandson, is the album’s other guest.
