Bio
NC Dread is a reggae/dancehall artist based in Cape Town, South Africa.
NC Dread has won several awards including Reggae Album of the Year, SA Dancehall Song of the Year (on three occasions), and SA Reggae Dancehall Artist of the Year. Despite the dominance house, kwaito and hip hop in South Africa, NC Dread has brought spotlight to reggae and dancehall music scene. This was made possible through his catalogue of chart-topping hits such as ‘On Fire’, ‘Born fi dis’, ‘Godfidence’, ‘Celebrate’, ‘Look to You’, ‘Fire Burn Dem’, ‘Always’, 'Party Tun Up', 'Can't Hold We Down' and 'Baddest'.
NC Dread's influence on the dancehall and reggae scene can be seen through a string of massive international collaborations. NC Dread's music is international and most of his songs have been playlisted across Africa, Europe and recently in the US (Hot 97 in New York). NC Dread has also toured Europe and Africa.
NC Dread is signed to African reggae dancehall vanguard Bashment Music SA, which is based in Johannesburg. The company has a distribution deal with 21st Hapilos Inc in New York.
