Born Anthony Kasirivu, Luka’s compositions have featured on a number of compilations and his projects have landed with record labels like Fomp, Dark Energy, Shine Records, Stilnovo, Fused Records, Jus Vibe and Faint Frequency. He has worked with artists such as The Rurals, Andy Compton, Joseph Hines, Shur-i-Kan, Steve Paradise and DJ Ankletap.

A promising rugby player while at the University of Johannesburg, Kasirivu broke his neck in a scrum in 2008 and has been wheelchair-bound ever since. In 2014, South African TV news channel eNCA told Kasirivu’s story in an episode of the Against All Odds series.

Luka, who runs house record label We Go Deep, comes from Mahikeng in South Africa’s North West province. He began making music in 2004 and founded We Go Deep in 2012. His productions are a fusion of lounge, jazz, soulful hip hop, deep dub and techno.

“I recently discovered a couple of guys like Mizgir, Ofuren and Skywalker,” he said of his influences. “My top would be Pezzner, Shur-i-kan and Andre Lodemann but there’s much more. I have no favourite, just appreciation for the different styles.”

Late last year he released the impeccably produced 'Invite Me In’ single featuring Sio.
