SA duo Frank and i drops Wake Up single

The alternative pop-rock track is available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms. ‘Wake Up’ was written by the group members Frank Furniss and Johan Brits. It comes after the group’s other track called ‘All We Need Is Love’, which was released internationally under the name Frank, Billy and i.

“We often go with what we believe and what the world and people around us are telling us, but there is a hope and we need to hold fast to the excitement of a bright future that lies ahead of us,” they said. “The inspiration behind ‘Wake Up’ is to encourage people that there is a reason to get up in the morning and get excited for what God has in store for them and dare again.”

Frank and i was formed after Johan and Frank became friends while performing at the same music event in Cape Town. They have performed at several shows in Nashville, US, and have shared the stage with local artists including Jo Black, Juanita du Plessis, Steve Hofmeyr, Nianell, Prime Circle, Johnny Clegg, Retief Burger and Elvis Blue.

Brits, 29, has been working in the music industry for the past 12 years. His love of music at a young age led him to study it in school. He has performed independently at various gospel shows and written songs for artists such as Rouchelle Liedemann, Desmond Wells, and Hugo Nieuwoudt.

Furniss, 39, has worked in the music industry for 20 years. Having studied music at Pretoria and Stellenbosch, he has worked with international stars including Will Smith, Queen, Annie Lennox, and Katie Melua.
