Alpha
Bio
Alpha (born Ebuka Alex Ojini-Ntamere) is a Nigerian rapper, record producer and audio engineer based in Lagos. He is a graduate of electrical/electronics engineering.
He released his first studio project, 'No Silence', a self-produced 10-track project, in 2010. All the songs were recorded in a single six-hour session. In 2011, Alpha went on to release his second 10-track project, 'The Road to R.U.S.H', consisting of covers. All songs on this project were recorded in a four-hour session. 'The Road to R.U.S.H' showed the depth of Alpha’s lyricism and garnered him a considerable underground following.
In 2014, Alpha released his third project, a six-track, self-produced EP titled 'My Own Horns: The Jazz Rap Project'. That same year, he submitted an entry to MI Abaga & Star Music's Best Rapper in the East competition and won. Not long after, he released 'The Artist', his only single with external production credits.
After a three-year hiatus, Alpha released another single, 'Butterflies', in April of 2017. This was followed by two more singles, 'Ocean Boy' (2017) and 'Yahooboy Muzik' (2018). These singles led up to the release of Alpha’s debut studio album, 'Half Price', in June 2018.
As a producer and audio engineer, Alpha is not only responsible for his sound but has helped shape the sounds of other artists across different genres, producing and mixing their songs. He most notably holds production and mixing credits on Blaqbonez’s debut album 'BadBoyBlaq', along with co-production credits on Loose Kaynon and AQ’s 'Crown' album.
Alpha operates FOCUS Audio, a fully registered professional music production, mixing and mastering outfit.
