A legend in the Kingdom's dancemusic scene and pioneer of dj culture in Eswatini...
Through a passion for underground dance music like House and the
80s-90s Hip Hop / RnB scene, Dr. P first started playing music in high
school as part of a DJ duo, The Spin Doctors, in 1997.
The duo immersed themselves in music and DJ culture; spending
hours listening to mix-tapes from DJs and radio stations in the U.S,
Europe and South Africa, playing at school dances and house parties
until getting their debut club-gig at Swaziland’s dance mecca, Sibebe, in
2001.
Since then, Dr. P has gone on to rock clubs, festivals and dancefloors in
Swaziland, RSA, Canada, US and Europe with a ‘party-rock’ style;
effortlessly going from styles and sounds according to crowds and mood,
playing with acts like Jazzy Jeff, Kaskade, Jay Tripwire, Iz and Diz,
Moses Mayes and Ben Watt
Dr. P lists artists and DJs like, Larry Heard, Frankie Knuckles.
Masters at Work, DJ Clue, Funkmaster Flex, Tim Westwood,
Wu-Tang, 90’s East and West Coast Rap or R’nB, early Kalawa,
Tim White, Christos, Thebe and Mdu, as some of his major influences,
just to name a few..
