BIO
The Bulawayo Culture Festival is an annual world music and dance festival that takes place during the month of April. It was founded in 2013 by creative producer Butshilo Nleya in 2013. It is registered with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe. The objective of the event is to promote and protect indigenous and international cultures in Zimbabwe.
It was formed with the idea presenting the different cultural practices and lifestyles in the country. It came as a respond due to the poor co-existence of diverse cultures in the country. As such, artists regard it as a modern platform for expression, creativity, collaboration and celebration.
It also features a number of workshops, focusing on topics such as hip-hop and pantsula, Umkhathi Theater Works and many others. Artists who often entertain the crowds include Family Voices, Raibow Blaze, Tanga Pasi, Black Umfolosi, Victor Kunonga and many others.
