BIO
Akin James (Omolayo Akinsola Mayowa James) is a native of Osun State, Nigeria. Like many singers he began in the local church choir where the music director noted his ability.
His early influences include R&B stars of the 1990s, Boyz II Men, Keith Sweat, Mack Morrison and others. Later influences include alternative and rock singers.
He has recorded a few songs: 'Ife Wa', Iremilode, and Give me a Reason, all of which are rock/alternative songs topped with soul. In 2011, he participated in the third edition of the Peak Talent (hunt) show where he got to the regional finals in Lagos. The judges were D1 of pioneer contemporary label Kennis music, OJB Jezreel and Oreka of Beat FM, Lagos. He received a warm reception his performance of his song "Jadesola".
