Nicknamed the “King of Arabic Pop,” he is the best-selling Middle Eastern artist of all time, a Guinness World Record holder, and a multiple-time winner of the World Music Awards.

He rose to prominence in the 1980s and 1990s with a string of successful albums, pioneering the use of high-quality music videos in the Middle East. His 1996 international breakthrough album Nour El Ain introduced a globally recognised sound blending Western pop with Egyptian and Mediterranean rhythms, a style often credited with defining Mediterranean music.
