BIO
Di’Ja is a Nigerian R&B singer. Born Hadiza Blell, Di’Ja is the child of a Nigerian mother and a Sierra Leonean father. Di’Ja’s career as a musician began in Canada where she released Rock Steady (2008). In addition to Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Canada, the petite singer has lived in the United States.
A double degree holder in Biology and Psychology, Di’Ja is signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavins Records label, where Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, D’Prince, Korede Bello are mates. With Korede Bello and Reekado Banks, Di’Ja forms the newer recruits to the label.
In 2014, she contributed a verse to the hit song ‘Dorobucci’ by the Mavins crew. Her first solo song for the label ‘Yaro’ (2014) has received acclaim and considerable airplay. The song is in Krio and Hausa, reflective of her extraction. Its remix features rapper Ice Prince, who like Di’Ja’s mother is from Nigeria’s Northern region.
