Kungawo Prince Manjo, also known professionally as Mtholisi, (born 11 December 2012 in the Western Cape, South Africa) is a South African Maskandi artist, singer, songwriter, vocalist, and multi-genre music producer. Born Kungawo Othandwayo "Prince" Manjo, he is known for blending traditional South African Maskandi influences with modern music production.
Early Life and Education
Manjo developed an early interest in music, storytelling, and production while growing up in the Western Cape. He attended Eluxolweni Public Primary School and later Siphamandla Senior Secondary School, where he continued to balance education with music development. Alongside his artistic journey, he has expressed interest in pursuing a future career in engineering.
Musical Career
He is a largely self-taught producer, learning music production using FL Studio Mobile. His music is influenced by South African Maskandi traditions and inspired by artists such as Mjolisi.
Before his solo career, he was part of the duo Kay & Mekeni CPT, gaining experience in performance and songwriting. In 2025, he released his debut single Ushaya Abafana, followed in 2026 by Uzofa Remix, which gained notable online attention and helped grow his audience.

As a producer and artist, Manjo works across multiple genres while remaining rooted in Maskandi music. His songs often focus on cultural identity, youth experiences, faith, perseverance, and personal growth.
Family and Background
Kungawo Prince Manjo is part of the Manjo family legacy and is sometimes referred to as the Prince of the Manjo Legacy. He is the son of Zingiswa Asonge Manjo Tafile, a South African blogger and digital creator, and Mhlangabezi Tholakele Tafile.
He is the grandson of Zodwa Debbie Bulana Manjo and the late Phillip Tunapayi Manjo. His siblings include Anam Badula (older sister), Emihle Tafile (younger sister), and Uvano Tafile (younger brother).
His extended family includes his aunt Malefie Bulana, mother of Senzo Lungiso Bulana, his close cousin and childhood music companion. They grew up singing together in KwaNdonga, Lady Frere, where his early musical foundation developed.

As of 2026, Kungawo Prince Manjo continues to balance his education with his growing music career, developing as both a Maskandi artist and multi-genre producer while pursuing long-term goals in engineering.
