Tendai Manatsa is a Zimbabwean musician born to legendary musician called Zex Manatsa. Tendai began his music career at 18. He started off by learning how to play the guitar. He played for artists such as Chiwoniso Maraire, Tanga wekwa Sando, Pax Afro and Shingisai Suluma. Before going solo, he had been a member of a group called Afrika Revenge.
He went solo after marrying Oliver Mtukudzi’s daughter, Selmor. In 2011, he released his debut album 'Kudzoka Kwababa'. The title track 'Kudzoka Kwababa', which featured his wife, was well-received. Since 2005 he had been working with his wife and the twosome released two albums 'Ndinewe— I am with You' (2011) and 'Tendai and Selmor Live'.
In January 2014, Manatsa had a debut solo performance at the Book Café after he had taken a break to promote his wive's solo album. The performance was followed by the release of his single 'Ndichifema' which featured rapper Stunner. Manatsa has performed in countries such as Mauritius and at international festivals in Saudi zaBusara Festival in Zanzibar.
