Business and Arts South Africa (BASA), in partnership with Rand Merchant Bank, is calling on creative practitioners and cultural organisations to apply for the second edition of the Scale-Up programme.
“The idea behind Scale-Up is to interrogate the state of the arts sector, and to create a dynamic networking space in which to share ideas and strategies to increase access, create value and cultivate agency for artists,” BASA head of programmes Boitumelo Motsoatsoe said.
The application deadline is 26 April and interested applicants can apply here.
Who should apply?

The call is intended for individual creative practitioners between 25 and 40 years old.

The is designed for creative/cultural organisations working with people between 25 to 40 years old.

Applicants (both individual and organisations) must have been practising for a minimum of three years, and live and/or work in Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town or Durban.

Selected participants are expected to attend all programme activities, or appoint relevant organisational representatives to take part.

Each workshop will be approximately one to two full days but will be presented in clusters over between May and September.

The most committed individuals and organisations will have an opportunity to pitch for a grant and mentorship at the end of the programme.
Scale-Up will encourage collaboration, connection and co-creation towards a more meaningful engagement in the sector through a series of webinars, site visits, events, online engagement and workshops that will be held from May to September.
