In Place of War, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, is calling on Ugandans interested in starting or developing their business ideas in the creative industry to apply for the Creative and Social Entrepreneurship (CASE) training programme.
The training programme, which takes place in Kampala from 1 to 14 October, invites creatives in the areas of music, publishing, advertising, design, architecture, fashion design, handicrafts, film and video, computer games, performing arts, software and computer services, radio and TV as well as the arts and antique market.
The University of Manchester certified course is also suitable for those already working in the creative industries at grassroots or community level, and wish to develop their project.
Participants will be taken through a two-week course aimed at developing and launching their creative project or business through the exploration of non-conventional methods created by communities in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Latin America, to develop social and creative projects.
At the end of the training, participants will present and promote their projects to a panel of experienced experts with the most promising ideas being awarded with prizes. The winners will be mentored by local and international experts who will work with them to help develop their idea.
Applicants should carefully read the CASE guidelines before downloading the application forms here and sending them to applications@inplaceofwar.net.
The deadline for applications is 25 August and only successful applicants will be contacted.
