Triton's audio performance will be broadcast on Facebook and YouTube. The performance will also air on Mauritian private station Radio One at 6pm GMT and Kool FM at 8pm GMT.
Triton's music is a blend of contemporary and traditional music including sega, blues and jazz. In 1999, he released his debut nine-track album Blues dan mwa, which was followed by Nation in 2004. His latest project is Afroriental blues, a 12-track instrumental album released in February 2020.
MAMA JAZ also announced that due to "the extraordinary circumstances" caused by the COVID-19 crisis, the 2020 International Jazz Day celebrations on 30 April would also take place online with the Happy Day Jazz Special from the Nepaltalakton podcast series. The special will be available on the MAMA JAZ website.
"It is the responsibility of each and every one to care and be aware as we all join forces to stand through the historical predicament at hand. As an artistic demonstration, MAMA JAZ has resolved to adopt its fifth edition to meet the extraordinary circumstances we are presently living," the MAMA JAZ website reads.
