As the 26th Meeting of the Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Nations (CHOGM) kicks off this week in Kigali, Rwanda, music is expected to play a role at the five-day summit.
As part of the conference’s entertainment programme, two People’s Concerts are scheduled to take place on 24 June and 26 June at Rugende Park in Gasabo district and Tapis Rouge in Nyarugenge district, respectively.
A total of 16 local artists and four DJs have been programmed to perform at the two shows, for delegates and other guests. They include Knowless Butera, Ariel Wayz, Okkama, Bushali, Riderman, Fireman, Juno Kizigenza, Kenny Sol, and Niyo Bosco, among others. The DJs are Ira, Brianne, Bisoso and Marnaud.
“There will also be a CHOGM cricket tournament, a CHOGM street festival and a Kigali night run event, among others,” Rwanda deputy government spokesperson Alain Mukuralinda said. “The artists will entertain and showcase the best of our country during the meeting.”
