As stipulated in our constitution, the current Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) Management Board is required to step down at the coming AGM on 10 November 2016, but will be eligible for re-election. We are therefore seeking nominations for the Management Board.

Chairman’s Statement: The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) turned 2 years old on 28 July 2015, a few weeks after the end of the fiscal year on which this annual report is based (July 2014 to June 2015). It gives me great pleasure to note that there was significant growth in many aspects of our work in this period.

We have witnessed a significant transformation in how music is produced, distributed and consumed. These changes have groomed a new breed of musicians, who basically have to do everything on their own to survive. The challenge now is on policy makers, thought-leaders and cultural organisations to devise new, effective solutions to leverage the African music sector in these transitional times.
