Wizkid and Future release Everytime
Nigerian popstar Wizkid has scored another international collaboration, this time with Future on the song ‘Everytime’.
Since featuring on Drake’s 'One Dance', which climbed to the top of the US charts, the ‘Ojuelegba’ singer has worked with several stars from the West. His ‘Shabba remix’ featured Chris Brown and Trey Songz, among others. His album Sounds from the Other Side saw Wizkid work with Major Lazer and Ty Dolla Sign. He was also on the Wale single 'My Love'.
Wizkid had earlier announced he was joining Future on the Future Hndrxx Tour, which took place in August. Future has also spoken about the Nigerian. “The African hip hop sound is very great,” he said in an interview, adding that, “Me and Wizkid have a gang of records together.”
The song ‘Everytime’ features some production from American producer Salaam Remi, who has worked with such acts as Nas and Amy Winehouse. The song is however credited to Nigerian producer Shizzi, a frequent Davido collaborator.
‘Everytime’ sees the Nigerian and American exchange verses and sing together on the chorus, a somewhat different pattern from Drake’s ‘One Dance’ which some fans complained had Wizkid sing briefly. Wizkid’s own ‘Come Closer’ featured a single verse from Drake and the rapper famously was absent from two videos available for the song online.
